Missing teeth can affect more than just your smile. They can knock your confidence and make things you once took for granted — eating, speaking, smiling freely — feel more difficult than they should.

Missing teeth can affect more than just your smile. They can knock your confidence and make things you once took for granted — eating, speaking, smiling freely — feel more difficult than they should.
Whether you've recently lost a tooth or have been living with an incomplete smile for years, dental implant treatment may be able to help. Where suitable, we can even show you what your new smile could look like before treatment begins.
As one of the first dentists in Australia to offer dental implant treatment, Dr Dunn has been helping people restore their smiles with fixed dental implant treatment for more than 25 years. Make today your turn.
Treatment risks, recovery and considerations can be found here.
Dr Dunn will evaluate your teeth and gums and use the latest 3D imaging technology to determine the best treatment options for you. He'll also assess your suitability for Immediate Implant treatment — where a temporary tooth is placed on the same day as your implant.

Dental implants mimic the natural teeth and tooth roots, making them the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. Yet, as with any surgery, there’s a lot to consider before having dental implant treatment. To help you, we’ve created this downloadable guide, which includes:

A dental implant is a titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Once integrated with the bone, it supports a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture. There are three components to a dental implant: the implant (titanium post), the abutment (connector), and the crown (visible tooth). Dental implants can replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, or a full arch. Because they integrate with the jawbone, dental implants are designed to function similarly to natural tooth roots and support a replacement tooth.
At Macquarie Street Dental, dental implant treatment starts from $7,500 per implant, which includes 3D implant planning, a custom surgical guide, pre-op consulting, a premium titanium implant, and a porcelain crown handcrafted in Australia. Costs may vary depending on your individual needs, including whether additional procedures such as bone grafting are required. During your consultation, you'll receive a personalised treatment plan and a detailed cost estimate. Some private health insurance policies may cover part of the cost of dental implant treatment – we recommend checking with your fund directly.
Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover the cost of dental implants. If you choose sedation, a Medicare rebate may apply – we recommend confirming current entitlements with Medicare directly as rebates are subject to change. If you'd like to discuss payment options, our team can explain the arrangements available and answer any questions you may have.

During your consultation, Dr Dunn will assess your oral health and gather detailed records, including 3D imaging, photographs and impressions where required.
Dental implant placement
The implant is placed into the jawbone under local anaesthetic. Sedation may also be available. In suitable cases, a temporary tooth can be placed on the same day.
Final restoration
After healing, typically around 3–6 months, your final crown or bridge is custom-made and fitted.
