Porcelain Veneers Sydney
Porcelain veneers are hand-built, customized and thin, tooth-coloured shells of porcelain that are bonded to the front and biting surfaces of your teeth. These are an excellent restorative option as they require minimal tooth-preparation (generally less than a millimetre of tooth structure is removed) and can be very effective in creating a naturally lighter, straighter, and more beautiful smile.
The process of undertaking veneers is a relatively simple procedure that is an affordable alternative to a dental crown if your underlying tooth is still strong and healthy. Veneers appear and feel just like your real teeth, with a translucency that mimics the light absorption of natural teeth. They also last for at least ten to fifteen years, and will resist staining over time.
They are generally completed in two appointments – in a first appointment the teeth are prepared and impressions taken in a highly accurate material. This allows for a model to be built of the prepared teeth. Our world class ceramist then builds the porcelain veneers to a custom prescription of shape and shade as defined by our patient and Dr Dunn. In a second appointment the porcelain veneers are carefully bonded to the front and biting surfaces of your teeth.
We can match your porcelain veneers to your existing tooth colour and shape, creating a perfectly natural effect. Because porcelain veneers imitate the light translucency of your real teeth they look just like real teeth… only better. They can be used to cover dark or yellow stained teeth, fill unsightly gaps, make shorter teeth longer, or straighten a crooked smile – in some cases eliminating the need for orthodontic treatment. So you can laugh and smile with confidence! When applied professionally and cared for regularly, porcelain veneers can last for well over 10 years and will not decay or stain.
Veneers: Before and After
This young patient had quite a short and square tooth shaping as well as issues with spacing between the teeth. Genetically, the canine teeth had an un-appealing tooth shaping and there was a somewhat dark tooth shading.
Digital Smile System
Following confirmation of our aesthetic prescription using Digital Smile Design techniques, thin, translucent porcelain veneers were constructed by our Ceramist, Mr Brian Walters at his Sydney Laboratory 'Dentogenics'.
Advantages of Dental Veneers
Following bonding of the porcelain veneers, we have established a more ideal tooth height to width proportion, closed the spacing and created a beautiful shaping to the teeth, as well as achieving a lighter, more youthful shading.

This care and attention to detail ensures we achieve world-class results. It is important to remember that cost alone should not influence the decision-making process, as the experience of the dental practitioner and their technical and laboratory support can affect the price, and more crucially, the quality of the treatment and outcome.
