Spacing/crowding of teeth

The alignment of your teeth and the spaces between your teeth are an important area to correct when addressing the function of your bite and when considering cosmetic dental improvements.

Teeth that are not aligned correctly can cause a number of concerns including:

  • Difficulty chewing
  • Difficulty biting the teeth together
  • Facial muscle or jaw pain
  • Food traps due to irregular gaps between teeth
  • Problems with biting the cheek or roof of the mouth
  • Speech difficulties

Correction can be achieved in a number of different ways depending on the severity of the problem. The most common ways to correct the alignment and spacing of teeth are:

  • Orthodontic veneering or crowning
  • Orthodontic treatment

Patient Solution

This 22 year old lady, Nicci, came to us after several consultations with other dentists. She had been informed that she would need braces or crowns. Nicci, did not want to go down the path of orthodontics so she came to see us, to see if we could help her. With the use of “in-house” whitening treatments we were able to lift the shade of her teeth, to a nice fresh shade, that really suited her complexion. We then produced 10 porcelain veneers to match her new shade, which gave Nicci a significant improvement to the appearance of her now beautiful and natural looking smile!
